Getting Started
Zuno turns your personal media server into a cinematic playback experience on your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. Getting set up takes two steps: install the app, then connect your server.
1. Install Zuno
Section titled “1. Install Zuno”Zuno is available on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
- Open the App Store on your device.
- Search for Zuno.
- Tap Get to install.
2. Connect your media server
Section titled “2. Connect your media server”When you first open Zuno, you’ll be asked to connect a media server. Zuno works with Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby.
Plex is the quickest to set up. You just sign in with your Plex account.
- On the welcome screen, tap Continue with Plex.
- Tap Sign In with Plex. Zuno opens the Plex sign-in page.
- On Apple TV, scan the on-screen QR code (or visit the URL shown) with your phone, then enter the code displayed.
- Sign in and authorise Zuno. Your Plex libraries appear automatically.
Jellyfin or Emby
Section titled “Jellyfin or Emby”For Jellyfin and Emby, you enter your server details.
- On the welcome screen, tap Continue with Jellyfin/Emby.
- Enter your Server URL: for example
http://192.168.1.100:8096.- Zuno also scans your local network and lists any servers it finds, so you can often just tap yours instead of typing the address.
- You can leave off
http://, it’s added automatically. If you can’t connect, try switching betweenhttp://andhttps://.
- Enter your username and password (leave the password blank if your account doesn’t have one).
- Tap Sign In.
You can add more servers at any time later from Settings.
3. Optional extras
Section titled “3. Optional extras”After connecting, Zuno walks you through a few optional steps. You can skip any of these and set them up later in Settings.
- Zuno Pro: unlocks 4K Ultra HD and enhanced HDR, spatial and lossless audio, personalised recommendations, and in-app media requests. You can start a free trial or continue with the free Basic tier. See Advanced Formats for what Pro adds.
- Requests (Seerr / Jellyseerr): connect Overseerr, Jellyseerr, or Seerr to request movies and shows that aren’t in your library yet, right from inside Zuno.
- Trakt: connect your Trakt account to sync your watch history and progress.
You’re all set
Section titled “You’re all set”Once your server is connected, your library appears on the home screen. Pick something and press play.
